Identity

To open a bank account, you need to show:

  • proof of identity (ID)
  • proof of your address where you live.

Some banks ask for more than two pieces of ID. Take as much information with you as possible.

  • Residence permit or similar document issued by the Home Office, showing you have a right to live in the UK
  • Driving licence.
